No girls night out is complete without a cosmo or two! The Cosmo or, more formally, Comopolitan, is a very popular cocktail in Australia, made with citrus vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec and lime juice.
The precise origins of the Cosmo are not known, but the drink first gained popularity in New England in the 1970s, before being brought over to San Francisco and the West Coast in the late 1980s.
It was not until the 1990s that the Cosmo became a favourite in Australia, thanks largely to Sex and the City -Cosmo was the cocktail of choice for lead character Carrie Bradshaw and her girlfriends.
The Cosmo is a fun, delicious cocktail -the party girl’s martini. It’s the perfect drink for celebrating with friends, at your favourite bar or even at home.
